These are by far the most common forms of blog monetization I have seen.

Creating Traffic To Your Blog

Of course, the only way to make money on your own blog- is to create traffic.Their are basically 2 ways to send traffic to your blog:

Paid Ads - Using ad's like 'Google AdWords' is the most popular form of advertising.
Search Traffic (Free Traffic) - This is when you get your blog ranked on Google or other search engines -or using other things, like Press Releases or Articles.

If you are just starting out in blogging, I would definitely consider using the free methods.
