Accurate data is what marketers need if they plan on following up with their prospects. There are basically three types of pages used in a home based business and affiliate marketing today. The first type of page is the company replicated site. This type of page is what most marketers or people in business use when they first start out. The company replicated site is good for getting familiar with your company but a very poor choice for prospecting as it provides no way of collecting data on your visitors.
The second type of web page used in home based businesses and or affiliate marketing is the squeeze page. This page is simply a small web page used exclusively to collect information about a prospect or visitor. Once a visitor gives up the requested information on the web form they click submit and then they are taken to wherever the end destination is.
These types of pages are basically no longer effective. The reason they're really no longer effective is because people are providing false information. This is a huge problem. You can't very well follow up with people if they give you false information.The third type of web page being used is the incentive squeeze page. Basically a glorified version of the basic squeeze page. The incentive squeeze page will offer the prospect something of value usually a couple of free digital products that will be available for instant down load upon the visitor or prospect giving up their contact information. People know that what is given away is of little value and they still provide false information or give e-mail addresses that they never check. The double opt in of some squeeze pages will require a person to go to the email that they provided to ensure its valid.
It's valid alright...long enough for them to get what they want then they never check it ever again...meanwhile your auto responder is busy pounding this email address that no one ever looks at. That's an insane way to market wouldn't you agree.This is what is currently in use from a marketing stand point to collect data to follow up with people and those who are serious about their marketing efforts know that they are seeing their numbers drop off sharply. The goal is for the business owner or affiliate marketer to be able to follow up with their prospect. People are so flooded with emails that they know that as soon as they fill out a form on the web they're gonna get pounded relentlessly with emails. People have caught on to these marketing tactics and are simply providing false information to business owners or they are using dummy email accounts that they never check!
The thought process on the consumers end of things is ...yea I want to check out this offer but I don't want to be flooded with email after email. Unfortunately many marketers will bombard a consumer to death with emails from their auto responders. Almost every form a person fills out on the Internet has an auto responder behind it that will send a seemingly endless stream of emails for follow ups. Just so you know...the email auto responder marketing mentality is dead. Its ineffective. People have figured it out and now avoid it.
So what consumers are now doing is providing false information and or using dummy email accounts that they never check. When consumers do this they have basically avoided your marketing follow up. I can't say that I blame them because I do the same thing. My parents and grandparents and all their friends are doing this as well so its a wide spread issue that not many marketers know what to do about.
